If you serve or have served, this market is built for you
Joint Base San Antonio anchors this economy, and a supply near six months is exactly the condition in which a VA offer competes well. Three things worth knowing. A VA loan still requires no down payment and no mortgage insurance, and for buyers with full entitlement there is no loan limit. Sellers in a slower market are far more willing to cover closing costs, which the VA permits. And Texas gives disabled veterans a property tax exemption that scales with the disability rating, up to a total homestead exemption at a 100 percent rating — a benefit that follows to a surviving spouse. Confirm your own entitlement and rating with the VA and your appraisal district; we are glad to walk through what it means for a specific house.
